Sound buttons (see attached image for an example of how to draw sound buttons)
Have words written on a piece of paper/white board/chalk board or words could be written as a list:
fur, burn, burp, curl, hurt, surf, turn, turnip
Children to draw sound buttons and sound talk the word and then say the word.
Hold up captions (use the screen/print off captions/copy on a piece of paper)
Encourage your child to read the caption - can they spot any tricky words? Can they blend the sounds together?
1. If I burn my leg, will it hurt?
2. I can surf or sail a boat.
3. My dog has fur on his tail.
