In your light shall we see light

Week beginning 26th April 2021

Hello Reception,

We hope you have had a wonderful weekend and enjoyed the sunshine.

We are incredibly excited to be taking part in our first swimming session on Monday. Please could children wear PE kit on swimming days to help ease of changing. Don't forget, children will need swimming costumes/ trunks, a towel, and goggles. Swimming hats are required for children who's hair is longer than their collar.

Please make sure you have let the office know by email if your child requires a shower after swimming. It will be a rinse off, so shower gels etc are not required.

This week are continuing to look at our topic Once Upon a time and still exploring all things Jack and the Beanstalk. We are continuing to develop our story telling skills using Pie Corbett’s Talk for Writing style actions to retell the story. We will be writing letters to the giant from Jack.

We will be exploring teen numbers using the numicon both indoors and out to think of different ways to represent them.

We will be creating our own magic beans and taking part in athletic style skill practise in PE.

PE days are now Monday and Tuesday so please ensure your child is wearing kit on those days, their hair is up and all earrings are removed or taped up.

Hopefully this lovely weather will continue. Please make sure that children have the correct outdoor clothing for the weather conditions and that their spare clothes are returned to school including changes of underwear and socks. A light raincoat is always a good idea at this time of year, but we will soon be needing sun hats too. If you would like your child to apply suncream during the day, please make sure you send in a named container. Children will apply the cream themselves, but we will supervise them. Children are not allowed to share cream unless we have specific instructions from both sets of parents!
