Eco-Council
Our Eco-Council
At St Paul’s Church of England Primary School, we uphold and teach pupils about the British Values throughout all aspects of our curriculum and practices: through Personal, Social, Health and Emotional (PSHE), Religious Education (RE) and through spiritual, moral, social and cultural development. We also teach the British Values through planning and delivering a broad and balanced curriculum. We value each child and their contribution to our school community and recognise the importance of each individual’s development and well being.
The Eco-Council feel passionate about promoting respect for our environment and each other. We intend to care for and protect each other encouraging them to protect the world in which we live for future generations.
Key British Value: Mutual Respect
Caring, sharing and listening to others. We believe that respect for others is a vital component of moral development. We encourage open discussions in all areas but particularly in lessons which promote citizenship such as PSHE. We actively support all to develop their own reasoned views about moral and ethical issues. We encourage all pupils to understand that they have rights and responsibilities as citizens within St Paul’s Church of England Primary School and the wider community. Our pupils take part in a range of inter-school activities and events within the county which help develop team spirit and fair play.
15.6.23 - Chris Smith our Eco Governor joined the Eco-council to help make bug hotels out of lots of donated items!
Chris said 'I had a brilliant time building the two bug hotels with both pupils from the Eco council and the others who helped.
The pupils who helped today are a credit to the school, they were fantastic. There was no grumbling over carrying all the items to the two build sites. They showed initiative and real enthusiasm in the build, the collection of natural items and asking lots of relevant questions.'
Well done Eco-council, it sounds like you have been superstars this afternoon!
