Year Five

Welcome to Year Five!

Welcome to our Year 5 page.  Class teachers in Year 5 are Mr Dean (5D) and Mrs D'Avanzo (5DA). We are supported by Mrs Betts, Ms Randall, Mrs Hancock, Mrs Bakewell and Miss Adams.

In the Autumn Term, we are studying food from around the world in our wonderful topic: 'Food Glorious Food'.

We have enjoyed reading the brilliant Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl and writing our own fantastic stories about characters trapped in imaginary rooms.

5DA gave a presentation on food miles during their class-led worship. The ingredients in a pizza can travel, in total, 30,000 food miles to reach the UK!

Their rendition of "Je Suis Une Pizza" was a joy to hear, and helped embed some French vocabulary too!

5D really enjoyed writing, rehearsing and performing their Class Assembly on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory gets Fit!

We presented work, stories and information to pupils and parents about our love of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the topic of food and how to keep fit.

We really enjoyed our Spelling Olympics!
