Advice from our Safeguarding Team - MOMO Challenge
Dear Parents/Carers
We are writing to advise you of the MOMO app that has landed in the UK. The game tells youngsters to kill themselves and has been linked to the death of a 12-year-old girl in Argentina. At the time, the terrifying game had not made its way to the UK.
However it emerged today that a seven-year-old boy from Manchester was a victim of the harrowing challenge.
Some children have been discussing this in school today. As a school, we have reminded the children of the importance of staying safe online but have not directly mentioned MOMO, as we do not want to cause alarm for the children. We are however sending you information that we received from the LA today, in case you want to discuss this further with your child.
Please read the Link below from the BBC news which provides more details.
