St Paul's Church - Car Park Permits
Mon 08 Apr 2019From this Easter, vehicle access and parking at St Paul’s Church, on a Monday to Friday during term time, between 8:15 and 9:00am and between 2:45 and 3:30 pm will only be available for those with Car Park Permits issued by St Paul’s Childcare Services and on a day when their children are attending St Paul’s Childcare Services.
Despite regular requests for the parents of schoolchildren not to use St Paul's Church drive to drop off their children or park their car, the problem of serious congestion has persisted. This has meant that legitimate users of the car park (ie those taking young children to and from the nursery, Childcare staff, and church service attendees) have been unable to park their cars.
In addition the huge number of vehicle movements has made it very dangerous for the hundreds of pedestrians including many young children going to and from the schools and nursery. An accident is waiting to happen, but together we can stop it. The car park will be regularly patrolled to enforce this requirement and we respectfully seek your co-operation to make St Paul's Church a safe area and a place where users of the premises can park.
Thank you very much for your help and a very Happy Easter.

Friends of St Paul's - Mothering Sunday
Wed 13 Mar 2019We will be opening the Mothers Day shop on Friday 29th March, during school hours, so that all children can come and choose a gift for someone they love to give on Mothering Sunday.
The Friends of St Paul’s will purchase gifts that the children can choose from and provide paper gift bags for them to decorate.
We would gratefully appreciate a donation of £2 per child to support this activity. Please put this in a named envelope and return to school by Wednesday 20th March 2019.
The children really love choosing a surprise gift for their special someone, and we thank you in advance for supporting us to continue this lovely tradition!
Kind regards
Friends of St Paul’s

Fortnite has a PEGI rating of 12, PEGI have said this is due to the: ‘frequent scenes of mild violence. It is not suitable for persons under 12 years of age’.

Advice from our Safeguarding Team - MOMO Challenge
Tue 26 Feb 2019Dear Parents/Carers
We are writing to advise you of the MOMO app that has landed in the UK. The game tells youngsters to kill themselves and has been linked to the death of a 12-year-old girl in Argentina. At the time, the terrifying game had not made its way to the UK.
However it emerged today that a seven-year-old boy from Manchester was a victim of the harrowing challenge.
Some children have been discussing this in school today. As a school, we have reminded the children of the importance of staying safe online but have not directly mentioned MOMO, as we do not want to cause alarm for the children. We are however sending you information that we received from the LA today, in case you want to discuss this further with your child.
Please read the Link below from the BBC news which provides more details.

If you have any further concerns, or would like some more information, please feel free to contact us.

Update on our Water Issue 19.12.18
Wed 19 Dec 2018We reluctantly took the decision to close the school yesterday because of combination of water-related factors.
Following work on our connection to the mains in recent weeks, we have been experiencing difficulties with our supply to some parts of the school, these include the ones in the Reception and Year 1 toilets.
The second concern was that a routine water test was undertaken, which resulted in samples needing further testing.
Following this test result, we could not obtain definitive confirmation yesterday morning, that the water across the school was completely safe to drink. Until we had that assurance, we decided not to let children use the water for drinking or handwashing. Unfortunately, we were forced to close the school for the afternoon in the absence of water for drinking and handwashing.
Today, we have supplied the children with bottled drinking water and hand sanitising fluid. We have also ensured that the taps in the pupil toilets cannot be used inadvertently.
We have received excellent advice and technical support from health and safety professionals and water specialists in managing this issue across the school.
We have received the test results today and are happy to confirm that all water issues are now resolved.
Thank you for your understanding and patience yesterday.
Do let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
Kind regards,
Mr Andrew Teale
Executive Headteacher
